Break/Resource NurseTacoma, Washington
CHI Franciscan Rehabilitation Hospital is growing and we are seeking additional nurses as we open up additional beds! We are a new 60-bed hospital that serves patients who are recovering from brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. This hospital is a joint venture partnership between CHI Franciscan Health and Kindred Healthcare.
This position is responsible for providing break relief for nurses and cover the care for their patients until they return. Break Nurse will assume full responsibility of the patients during the nurse’s break and provide the care necessary, including but not limited to, providing ADLs, assisting in procedures, transferring/receiving of the patient to/from another department, and speaking with physicians, family members and other members of healthcare team. Break Nurse must review all orders in the electronic medical record and complete any tasks which are due.
Provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary. Communicates changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. Participates in discharges planning process.
This is a night shift position.Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma program or ADN program.
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.
- CRRN Preferred
- Minimum six months’ Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
