Kindred Healthcare and Anderson Healthcare have begun construction on Anderson Rehabilitation Institute on Anderson Healthcare’s Goshen Campus in Edwardsville, IL. Anderson Rehabilitation Institute is a joint venture between the two organizations and is expected to open in the second quarter of 2021. The institute will be the first freestanding rehabilitation institute and will provide care to patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and other complex conditions. Staff will provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Other special services provided will include Physiatry, internal medicine, medical/surgical consultations, rehabilitation nursing and nutritional services. The institute will have a dedicated pharmacy. The 49,920-square-foot facility will have 34 beds and feature all private rooms; a secured acquired brain injury unit with private dining and therapy gym; large interdisciplinary gym for all therapy services; transitional living apartment designed to simulate a residential apartment, to prepare patients for their daily living tasks before they are discharged home; and a therapeutic courtyard with exterior amenities. It will also have specially designed rooms to treat dialysis patients; and specialty programs dedicated to neuro, stroke, brain injury, and amputation.

Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style the CEO provides the leadership to effectively grow the hospital by ensuring clinical excellence, operating efficiency and financial strength. This includes CEO leadership in developing strong senior team and partnership with Medical Director and medical staff to ensure the clinical excellence and operational performance of the rehabilitation hospital. The CEO is also responsible for designing, developing and implementing a strategic plan to ensure the success of the hospital’s clinical, financial and overall operating performance and successful growth of the hospital as a whole. The CEO directs, administers and coordinates the overall operations of the hospital, including the goals and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer in collaboration with the Managing Partner and Board of Managers.

Qualifications

5 years of successful healthcare management experience, 3-5 years as hospital/healthcare facility CEO/COO preferred, rehabilitation hospital experience preferred

  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred
  • Rehabilitation operations experience required
  • Med-Surg hospitals and systems (for profit and non-profit) knowledge a plus
  • Basic computer knowledge including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Clinical and Administrative Management experience a plus
  • Experience with a start-up hospital desired
  • Passion for superior clinical outcomes/programs, superior patient satisfaction and partner relationships required.
