We are recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer – Cloud Network Connectivity to join our Information Systems Team.  This position can be remote.

Summary:

The Kindred network team designs, implements and supports the networks that our healthcare facilities and branch offices rely upon for clinical and business applications.  The team is based in the Kindred data center in Louisville, KY but many positions offer flexibility for remote work.  As we continue to expand with new facilities and partnerships, we’re looking for a network engineer to join our team that will specialize in cloud network connectivity. 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage connectivity between on-premises and external networks.
  • Configure and support networks in Microsoft Azure.  Includes configuring private and public IP addresses, network interfaces, subnets, DNS, routing, virtual networks, and peering.
  • Maintain Palo Alto firewalls, including software upgrades, licensing, and subscription management.
  • Maintain lifecycle of network equipment, including software upgrades, license management, and hardware refresh.
  • Provide on-call and escalation support for production issues.  Requires collaboration with development and operational teams, analyzing network traces, identifying root causes of performance issues, and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Actively build and maintain relationships with development and operational teams in order to understand business needs related to network design.
  • Create and update implementation and support documentation for network and support teams.
  • Participate in other network team projects and tasks as assigned.

The following technologies are part of the team’s daily support activities.  We’re looking for a team member that can contribute immediately in the areas of network security and cloud connectivity. 

  • Microsoft Azure Networking
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Microsoft Azure and Citrix Netscaler Load Balancers
  • Terraform
  • Powershell and Python scripting
  • Megaport Cloud Interconnect
  • Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches
  • Viptela and Meraki SDWan
  • Meraki wireless networks

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have excellent customer service and communications skills.  The person in this role will collaborate with development and operational teams, and will have regular interaction with clinicians and business users.
  • Experience supporting branch offices with MPLS, broadband, and VPN connections.
  • Experience using Python, Powershell, and other scripting tools.
  • Some experience using Terraform to deploy network services in Azure.

Qualifications

  • At least five years recent experience in a position where primary responsibilities included Cisco network support in an enterprise environment, at least one year of which included Microsoft Azure support.
  • Current or previous Cisco CCNA certification
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
