We are recruiting for a Senior Director Enterprise Consulting – Strategic Programs to join our Enterprise Transformation Office in Louisville, Kentucky. 

 

Summary:

The Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) leads and oversees strategic programs for Kindred Healthcare.  This position will lead and manage all Strategic Program resources within the ETO and manage the portfolio of projects with the defined scope as prioritized by executive leadership. 

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees and leads a team comprised of Executive-Level functional leads and subject matter experts who assist and carry out many initiatives within the enterprise. Consider and challenge project proposals, support justified actions, provide budgets, and set priorities as appropriate.

  • Locate and secure internal resources to advance business and strategic initiatives.

  • Provides leadership within the C-Suite level to accomplish results. Execute on initiatives working with the operational leaders, both fiscal and operational in nature.

  • Works in a cross-functional capacity to deliver people change management across the enterprise.

  • Interface across the enterprise, as well as externally, to solve operational and strategic issues.

  • Leverage prior enterprise experience to drive operational success across the company.

  • Responsible for Program Development driving key integration activities for acquisitions, as well as disposition activities.

  • Liaison between C-Suite level and cross-functional leads internally and externally to ensure needs are met and resources are applied effectively during the integration process.

  • Serves as intermediary between Executive Leadership internally, as well as established and potential external vendors and partners.

  • Identify and execute on areas of standardization in order to bring unity around business processes and save company resources.

  • Collaborate closely with Corporate and Business Development in alignment with Executive Operations around confidential and highly sensitive information.

  • Manage large scale strategic programs, which have a significant fiscal impact to the Enterprise; provides direction and consultation to all levels of the organization, including C-suite.

  • Design and deliver Executive Steering Committee and Board of Directors materials deciding upon appropriate level of executive content for comprehensive and routine updates.

  • Adjudicate or mitigate program risks through conflict resolution and negotiation.

  • Serves as key liaison between business and external consulting firms.

  • Review contracts and provide response/guidance to the business. Coordinate contract review with legal and outside counsel as necessary to execute agreement.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships within the business units optimizing business and strategic initiatives through a proactive approach.

  • Excellent verbal and written business and personal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent organizational skills; exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to drive multiple initiatives concurrently and independently.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence; emotional awareness, ability to identify and manage own emotions, and ability to manage others emotions through harnessing and applying to critical-thinking, cheering up, or calming down. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization to achieve desired results.

  • Excellent leadership skills, which includes the ability to set a vision and identify the action steps to achieve that vision and the ability to motivate the team and stakeholders to take action.

  • Ability to function objectively in sensitive and stressful situations, work autonomously, anticipate leadership concerns, and demonstrate responsiveness on the delivery of required intel and information.

  • Comprehensive understanding of contracting and Business Development life cycle; providing value across the entire deal life cycle from strategy to execution to acquisition to divestiture.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to deadlines and deliverables that are linked to the company’s financial objectives, as well as industry requirements.

  • Aptitude and intrinsic motivation for continued and self-directed learning to ensure knowledge base and ability to consult as new programs are onboarded through the ETO.

  • Approximate percent of time required to travel: 10%


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field and/or experience requirements.   

Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years progressive experience in business environment, preferably healthcare.

  • 10+ years management experience.

  • 5+ years experience providing integration and cross-functional leadership/support for critical business and strategic initiatives.

  • In-depth understanding of business framework to govern enterprise business and strategic initiatives.

  • Proven ability to quicky build rapport, trust, and credibility with executive leaders and key stakeholders internally and externally. Must be comfortable interacting with Executive Committee-level leadership.

  • Lean Six Sigma process improvement experience, Green Belt Certification minimum

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
