Resource Chief Financial Officer Summary:

Acts as a key business advisor to the DVP Controller and District CFs in developing and improving financial processes and reviews required for the Division to optimize current and future financial performance. Provides support and training to the Division’s hospitals for accounting functions including audit, budgeting, purchasing and revenue management.

As the Resource Chief Financial Officeryou will

  • Participate in planning and creating the Divisions, operational, service design and other organizational plans and policies to achieve the mission and vision of the hospitals.
  • Develop, design and provide for a written scope of services, departmental policies and procedures that guide and support the provision and integration of services according to mission and vision of the Division and hospitals.
  • Direct the coordination and integration of services with other departments and the Divisions primary functions.
  • Communicate the Divisions mission, vision, and plans with operational team members that guides them in their day-to-day activities.  Promote and motivate field members to implement Division and District operational, programmatic and other plans.
  • Provide for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education to Finance Leaders within the Division.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to measure and assess the quality of services provided.
  • Provide training and support to the Hospital Controllers including filling openings where appropriate.  Travel when appropriate and necessary to provide support and training.
  • Provide, develop and create training webinars. Provide 1:1 training and support to hospital controllers when necessary. Develop, monitor and maintain Knect Training Site.
  • Revise, monitor and implement FP&P changes in addition to assist in the standardization of financial processes across the Division.  Including working with all departments in the Support Center to facilitate updates for the Division, which will include leading the HD Finance Accounting Committee.
  • Review, monitor and provide feedback on all Outside Services and Charges Reviews across the Division. Implement standardization, reviews and improvements when necessary.
  • Implement and improve all hospital financial functions and works to resolve all audit recommendations.
  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Maintain effective fiscal monitoring and control processes and procedures to ensure financial statements are accurately stated.
  • Analyze studies of general economic, business and regulatory changes and their impact on the organization’s operations.  Recommend appropriate actions and strategies to respond as necessary.
  • Assist hospitals with development of their business plans.  Analyze hospital operations for opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment and high quality patient care.
  • Analyze risk management and insurance reports for improvement opportunities.
  • Work with I/S to improve financial and patient accounting systems.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures are in place to meet the terms of the Corporate Compliance Agreement.
  • Provide financial leadership and functions as a resource to the facility staff in areas such as financial operations, labor management, cost containment, information systems, revenue reporting, collection activity, reimbursement issues, materials management and compliance matters.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  Masters preferred.

Licenses/Certification: CPA helpful

Experience: A minimum of five years experience in a healthcare financial management position. Experience with multi-facility responsibilities
