We are recruiting for a Market Research Analyst to join Kindred Rehabilitation Services in St. Louis, Missouri. 

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting Kindred Rehabilitation Services’ Business Development and Operations Teams in the extraction, interpretation and creation of data driven research for internal and external presentation in order to achieve strategies and growth. This is a dynamic position that conducts complex analyses of external and internal data to support planning and development, sales and marketing, operations and policy for the Division and Corporation.  Job requires curiosity about clinical, operational, and financial aspects of the entire continuum of care, patient care experience, and role of expert rehabilitation services.

 

Essential Functions: (Research Analyst must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation).

  • Develops, integrates, and maintains databases of key internal planning and external market information needed by Division leaders.

  • Performs confidential research, preparation, and analysis of market data for internal and external constituent groups.

  • Coordinates and integrates various sources of utilization, demographic and provider data, conducts creative analyses, identifies implications and makes recommendations regarding business development efforts.

  • Conducts custom analyses regarding market demand, operational trends and regulatory issues.  Respond to requests from corporate departments and the field for data and technical assistance.

  • Liaison with Information Systems regarding internal data access, Business and Data Warehouses and software certification.

  • Assist in the team effort to define analytical projects, collect data, apply rigorous experimental design and statistical method to achieve business objectives.

  • Works collaboratively with Business Development officers, Operations officers and directors, and Business Development support team to creatively prepare compelling reports of market information to inform decision-making.

  • Creation of client ready research reports through extraction, interpretation and analyses from a variety of data sources.

  • Provides advice and counsel to ensure that department activities support organizational and business goals.

  • Initiates communication and exercises judgment and discretion as a liaison between Business Development officers, Operations officers and directors, Business Development support team, and internal and external constituent groups.

  • Participates in the development of plans and in the planning process for RehabCare programs and services, feasibility studies, and business and marketing plans to inform decision-making individuals within and outside the organization to increase effectiveness of sales efforts and maximize results of existing programs.

  • Independently drafts reports, as needed, and conducts research necessary for securing pertinent data and statistics, with attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.

  • Develops creative solutions to research, sales and operational problems.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Power Point, Word), as well as any statistical package (SPSS/SAS/Python) and mapping applications.

  • Knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Access databases containing external and internal information regarding health care facilities and utilization, managed care and demographics.

  • Knowledge of computer applications and software that access databases and produce standard and custom reports and maps. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external client needs.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to extract, interpret data from a variety of resources, and present research in concise and coherent manner for use in internal and client presentations.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelors degree, public health, finance, business, health care, marketing, or computer sciences
  • Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
  • 1-3 years related healthcare and/or research experience, preferably in a large corporate marketing/sales department environment.
  • Health care experience a plus.
