We are recruiting for a HOPE Fund Administrator to join Kindred Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky.

Job Summary:

The HOPE Fund Administrator provides support to the HOPE Fund Board of Directors.  This position is responsible for administering employee awards, developing and overseeing fundraising and awareness campaigns, and leading financial reporting and budgeting activities. The Administrator acts as a liasion between our facilities, HOPE Fund requestors and the Board of Directors. In addition, this position is responsible for providing invoice processing and financial review for Corporate Facilities Management. 

Essential Functions: (Those functions that the individual who holds the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation).

  • Review and process HOPE Fund requests for award eligibility based on operating guidelines and award matrix.

  • Develop and manage fundraising and awareness campaigns and monitors success of programs.  Create and implement fundraising plans that maximize engagement and contributions and minimize costs.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the HOPE Fund.
  • Communicate regularly with the Board regarding project timelines, project status and program updates.

  • Assist the Board in preparation for board and committee meetings.
  • Advise Board on operating guidelines and bylaws.

  • Create and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budget and financial reports.

  • Provide input to the Board regarding the financial implications of strategic initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain strong Board relations.

  • Act as a liaison between Officers, HOPE Fund Board members, HR Partners and award requestors.

  • Complete CBRs along with supporting document , and obtain required approvals  (Requestor and VP of the department) for Facilities Management

  • Invoice processing and account review for month end processing
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present to diverse audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop long-term relationships with a variety of constituents, including board, field leadership, Human Resources partners and field staff.  

  • Operates with diplomacy and discretion
  • Attention to detail with strong follow up skills

  • Self-directed with the ability to adapt to new situations

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices helpful Demonstrated ability to effectively represent an organization to diverse audiences through the use of strong verbal and written communications skills and marketing

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate several projects simultaneously with minimum supervision.  Ability to plan and organize tasks and responsibilities including multitasking, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively within a team environment.


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations or a related field and/or a combination of equivalent work experience is required.

  • 3+ years of direct experience in marketing, business administration, community relations/fundraising development in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
