We are recruiting for a Supervisor, Accounts Payable to join our Accounts Payable Department!
Summary: 

The AP Supervisor is an essential member of our Accounts Payable Department. They will function as a leader within the AP team, ensure strong communications/relationships with outside vendors, as well as internal employees (including upper management). The AP Supervisor directs a team of AP Processors/Coordinators with responsibility for processing for a high volume of vendor invoices.  This position also requires the review of all staff AP work for accuracy, as well as the training/onboarding of new AP staff. The AP Supervisor will perform and assist in certain month end activities and reconciliations including accruals or journal entries.

Essential Functions:

To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

  • Ensures vendor invoices are processed timely and routed to appropriate workflows for approval
  • Monitors problem and exception queue to keep invoices flowing
  • Develops, implements, and maintains systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company policy and guidelines
  • Evaluates accounts payable procedures, applies policies and guidelines with some latitude for interpretations, ensures staff operates within established procedures, and submits recommendations for changes to improve efficiency
  • Trains, motivates, and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Provides mentoring and assist to Accounts Payable team members
  • Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to diagnose and address bottlenecks and continuously improve our processes
  • Responds to internal and external customer inquiries in an expeditious manner to deliver excellent customer service
  • Works closely with AP Manager on department reporting and metrics and projects, which could include internal auditing, audit support, and updating procedures manuals as necessary
  • Assists in completing annual 1099 filings to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Compares contracts to invoices to ensure compliance
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Supervise the work of others, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments, but do not have final responsibility for making these decisions.

  • Moderate Computers Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience; 2+ years of supervisory/management experience required; Large ERP experience required
