The Health Information Management Supervisor manages and controls the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department.Duties include training and supervising designated employees in the department, maintaining effective information systems, monitors dictated and transcribed reports, retrieves, preps and prepares records for scanning, assist in scanning and analyzing medical records, assisting with maintaining Joint Commission and other regulatory compliance.Represents HIM Department in management and committee meetings/activities in absence of HIM Director.
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education:High School Diploma or equivalent, required.Post secondary degree preferred.
Experience: 3 -5 years progressively HIM experience preferred.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
