Kindred Healthcare is currently seeking an enthusiastic Resource Clinical Liaison to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) Business Development team! Our full time Resource Clinical Liaison position is opening with an immediate need for hire. YouwillbeabletoworkwithourdifferentIRFs inordertoassistthemintheir business development,marketanalysis, growth, andplanning. Therewillbeopportunitiesto conducttrainings anddevelopeducationalprograms.Youcouldalsobetasked withresearch, liaisonmentoring,conflictmanagement, andotherprogramimprovementprojects.

This role requires at least 75% travel, to our IRF facilities from coast to coast. The position would require flexibility in scheduling and last minute changes in deployment settings. The ideal candidate would be able to think on their feet, and be intuitive to the needs of the clinical liaisons when in new and changing environments. You will be required to work with the local Director of Business Development to plan your deployment tasks to be completed while on site. In addition to on site work, you may be responsible for remote assistance, education, and training of new, or low performing liaisons. This position requires an understanding of stressful environments and conflict management techniques. This role is also a resource and educator for the admissions processes and procedures.

This position is also required to work alongside our New Start Implementation Team in our new rehabilitation hospitals. In this portion of the role the Resource Liaison will be required to educate the liaisons and work alongside them with patient selection, learning new pre-screening processes and procedures. This may entail cold calling, educating on the admission requirements of rehab, and working with the DBD for physician development.

  • PossessknowledgeandunderstandingofregulatoryrequirementsasrelatedtoIRFlevelofcare.Participateandmaintainhospitalcomplianceasrelatedtostate,federal,jointcommission,CMS,andDOHstandards.
  • Maintainprofessionalrapportwiththeprivaterehabilitationsector,commercialinsurancecompanies,communityorganizations,rehabilitationnurses,accidentandhealthcarriers,HMO’s,workerscompensationcarriers,andselfinsuredemployers.

  • AssuretimelyandresponsivecommunicationsbetweenreferralsourcesandIRF.Beresponsive!

  • Liaisonshouldbeabletocommunicatewellinapublicforumasrelatedtogivingpresentations.

  • Liaisonshouldbeavailablefortravel at least 75% of the time,aswellasbecomfortablewithworkinginnew,potentiallyun-familiarmarkets(coldcalling).

  • Liaisonshouldbecomfortablewithconflictmanagement/resolution.

  • Liaisonshouldbehandsonandastrongmultitasker.

  • Shouldbeproficientwithbasiccomputerprograms(Will use EMR, UDS,Meditech,MicrosoftOffice,etc.)

Inthisposition,youwillbeavitalassettothecontinuedgrowthandimprovementofourIRFs.Thisroleactsassupporttofacilitiesthatrequireassistancewithgrowingtheircommunitypresence,trainingliaisonsinthefield,anddevelopingtheirbusinessplan.Youwillberesponsiblefortraininginthefield,givingpresentations,andassistingIRFsintheirongoingmarketanalysis.Inadditionyouwillalsoassist with:

  • Servingasaresourcetothenetwork/systemformarketingandadmissionsrelatedissues.

  • Identifyingnewpotentialcompanymarketopportunitiesandassistintheirdevelopment.

  • Empoweringliaisonsrelativetomarketingstrategiesandpatient/familyeducationforprogramfeaturesandbenefits.

  • Workonspecialprojects,research,anddevelopment.



Qualifications

  • College degree in healthcare-related field with CLINICAL LICENSURE REQUIRED (RN, LPN, LVN, PT, OT, PTA, COTA, SLP, LMSW, Respiratory Therapist)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in acute care or rehab.

  • Clinical experience required with demonstrated skills in clinical assessments and marketing.

  • Requires a professional level of knowledge in physician relations and interfacing with insurance companies.

  • Extensive knowledge of local provider and medical communities.

  • Ability to be available for occasional evenings for marketing events, weekend coverage, and routine travel.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.

  • Ability to deal tactfully with, patients, hospital staff and the general public.

  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Must maintain valid driver’s license.
