Remote position off site of hospital grounds.
Under general supervision and according to established procedures, assign diagnostic codes to health information records. Evaluate medical records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the International Classification of Diseases Manual – Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM & ICD-10-CM) and the American Medical Associations Current Procedural Termination (CPT) Manual. Code charts under the ICD-9-CM & ICD-10-CM and CPT.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Must have thorough understanding of ICD-10 Official Coding Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and AHA Coding Clinic; HCPCS/CPT coding systems and CPT Assistant and Coding Clinic for HCPCS guidelines; Medicare Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS), and Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC).
Has knowledge of and abides by HIM.COD policies.
Certifications:
X • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through the American Health Information Management Association(AHIMA) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)/(CPC-H) through AAPC
Minimum Work Experience
Two (2) years of medical coding experience preferred.
Minimum Salary: $17.22
Maximum Salary: $26.69
