Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities; Seeks consultation as necessary. Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan. Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist. Documents services provided and patient response/progress. Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.  Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.  


Qualifications

EducationAssociate Degree of Physical Therapy Assistant from approved Physical Therapy Assistant program, Required.

Required LicensesCurrent MS Board of Physical Therapy Licensure Physical Therapy Assistant

Required CertificationsCurrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire or transfer.

Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

ExperiencePreferred but not Required.
